my

philosophy

My area of focus is in the Public Health field concentrating in the HIV/STD field. I have received my Associate’s in Arts at Guilford Technical Community College, an graduated with my Bachelors of Social Work in May 2019. I have the skill-set, training, and experience to continue my success within this particular industry. I worked at a non-profit organization called NIA Community Action Center, Inc. that focused on aiding the community in clinical education, testing, counseling, and training for HIV/STD’s, as well as other needed resources such as housing and food resources.

I received my HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral training through the NC Department of Health & Human Services, as well as my Phlebotomy and Blood Borne Pathogens training through NC Branch of Communicable Disease through NC Department of Health and Human Services. I have organized multiple community events such as World AIDS Day, National Women & Girls HIV Awareness Day, Gay Pride, and alongside other small community testing events. Outside of work, I continue my advocacy for the LGBTQ Community, as well as HIV Prevention within my communities. My ultimate goal is to utilize my marketing skills to connect to different populations through television media and social media. Through my experience and training, these efforts are beneficial to my success in this particular field. I am always willing to learn more, in hopes to continue my success.
